I look at my past and feel like it’s a chain that binds me.

CYNIC

Oh, the past is a chain? Please. It's more like a sticky note you keep rereading and pretending you can't throw away. You're not bound; you're just nostalgic for your own excuses.

STOIC

The past is a chain only if you clutch it. Set it down, and it becomes a path you have already walked. What binds you is not the memory but the refusal to release it.

ABSURD

A chain? I once saw a man try to sue his own shadow for following him too closely. The judge, a talking lamppost, ruled in favor of the shadow. Now the man carries a bag of old receipts and calls it freedom. You sound like him.

Reframing: seeing the situation from three sides

Every problem can be viewed from different angles. The Cynic reduces importance through sarcasm, the Stoic helps find control, the Absurd reveals unexpected meanings.
